The Asian American Teen project is a series of photographs of Asian American girls between the ages of 13 and 19.  The girls are asked to choose their own clothes, shoes and accessories and to do their own hair and makeup however they wish.  Other than asking them not to smile, there is no posing or direction on the part of the photographer.  The aim of this project is to challenge common stereotypes of Asian teens in the United States and allow them to represent themselves.
